WAXED LEATHER

Waxed leather A.K.A. oiled leather is robust leather to which a layer of oil/wax finish is applied. Often these waxes, oils or fats are also dyed. Due to this soft and scratch-sensitive finish the leather quickly gets a vintage-patina, which is a desired effect by some people just like jeans.

Napa leather is typically is often regarded as the most authentic type of leather because it keeps all of the texture from the original hide. This allows the leather to retain a lot of its original textures and markings. It also goes through a finishing process that enhances its durability. It's known for being very soft and pliable.

Saffiano leather was first made in one of Italy's most famous tanneries Prada. Saffiano leather is famous for its diagonal lines and cross-hatch pattern which are machine-pressed into the wax coating of the leather giving it a slight sheen.
